Equal Opportunities Policy

Leek Club Day is a Christian Organisation and so has Christian values with a Christian ethos. People of other faiths or none or those who are exploring their faith will be welcomed as part of the event, providing they have undertaken some form of education (which is available in all schools in Leek as well as elsewhere). Representatives of the churches, which form the Committee, must, necessarily be associated with one or more churches.

Leek Club Day recognises, however, that everyone has a contribution to make to our society and a right to equal opportunity.

No volunteer or individual will be discriminated against by us on the grounds of:

  • gender (including sex, marriage, gender re-assignment);
  • race (including ethnic origin, colour, nationality and national origin);
  • disability;
  • sexual orientation;
  • religion or belief;
  • age.

All volunteers will be helped and encouraged to develop their talents and resources of individuals will be fully utilised to maximise the efficiency of the organisation.

All volunteers have a legal and moral obligation not to discriminate and to report incidents of discrimination to the Organiser.

Our commitment is to create an environment in which individual differences and the contributions of all our volunteers are recognised and valued.

Every volunteer and participant is entitled to be part of an environment that promotes dignity and respect to all. No form of intimidation, bullying or harassment will be tolerated.
